USMX-ILA Container Freight Station (CFS) Trust Fund Training at MITAGS

The USMX-ILA CFS Trust Fund has developed state-of-the-art-training programs for longshore personnel employed by USMX’s member companies in the ports from Maine to Texas. The USMX-ILA CFS training facility is located at the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies (MITAGS) in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, and features detailed classroom instruction plus practical, hands-on simulator experience. USMX coordinates the scheduling of all attendees for the four USMX-ILA MITAGS training courses offered [1) Crane Training (Experienced & Inexperienced); 2) Rubber Tire Gantry Crane; 3) Diesel Electrical Generator; and 4) Container Refrigeration]. USMX-ILA Maritime Workforce Training Materials

The USMX-ILA CFS Trust Fund has also developed several training series for purchase and use for local training of longshore employees by USMX’s member companies in their local ports [Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT); Certification/Recertification Training; and Focus on Safety—Be a Star! Introduction to Safe Longshore Maintenance & Repair Operations]. Each series/class topic is presented on a USB thumbdrive, and is accompanied by corresponding Student Workbooks and Trainers' Guides.
